Tennis E, in the Second Division, recorded their first win of the season when they edged past Cody A 6-4. Cody’s Peter Anthony won all his matches with the Tennis pair of George Carder and Andy Murdock each winning twice. Fleet A maintained their 100% record after overcoming, previously unbeaten, Ash C 7-3. Lawrence Dack led the way with a full house and David Joyce supported with a duo. Frank Winnard won a couple for Ash. Frimley C easily beat Braybrooke A 8-2 with Peter Farrelly chalking up another maximum. Team-mates John Eade and Quang Le each won twice with both succumbing to Braybrooke’s Mark Armstrong. Frimley B and Cody B shared the points with doubles for David Mackinnon and Brian Greenberg from Frimley and the Cody pair of dave Stenning and Duncan Sibbick.
In the Fourth Division Crawley Ridge B retain their perfect record after a tight 6-4 victory over Ash G. David Marchant won all his three for the Camberley outfit with Richard Hornby supporting with a pair. Ray Mears bagged a brace for Ash. Tennis H suffered their first defeat of the season when they were beaten by Frimley E 7-3. The Frimley pair of Dennis Smith and Stephen Bridle were both unbeaten. Ash H eased their way to the promotion places after an 8-2 comprehensive victory over Fleet C. Ben Carr bagged a full house whilst team-mates Brian Lunn and Darren Milstead supported with braces with both losing to Fleet’s Alan Yeung. Tennis J easily beat Ash J 9-1 with maximums from Tom Ette and Mehrdad Abutalebi with colleague John Davis winning twice.
Frimley D moved to the top of the Third Division with an emphatic, 8-2, win over previously unbeaten Ash D. Anthony Connelly was unbeaten with Tony Harrison and Barry Baxter each winning twice in support. Hugh McKee won twice for Ash. Tennis F remain unbeaten after they edged past Crawley Ridge A 6-4. Crawley Ridge’s Ken Thompson was undefeated with Graham Marshall and Graham McCulley both twice victorious for Tennis. Cody C easily beat their D team 8-2 with John Harvey and Jock Docherty both recording full houses. Fleet B just beat Cody E 6-4 with all the Fleet team, James Maxwell, Rob Brook and Andrew Blunden winning twice as did Cody’s John Sheehy.
