Crawley Ridge A, in the Third Division, registered their first win of the season, 6-4, against Cody D. All the Camberley team’s players, Ken Thompson, Peter Greenwood-Sleep and Corin Moore won twice which was matched by Cody’s Dean Hewitt. Cody C beat Frimley D 7-3 with John Harvey unbeaten and Stuart Stone and Jock Docherty supporting with a pair but both lost to Gary Nicholson. Ash E whitewashed their F team with Jo Bartlett, Amy Parkes and Tom Gordon picking up the points.
Broadmoor A moved to the top of the Second Division with an emphatic 8-2 success over Ash C. Pu Zhang won all three for Broadmoor with Tony Gabriel and Keith Jones each winning twice but both succumbed to Ash’s Chris Carter. Bentley B drew with Broadmoor B. Eric North notched up a trio for Bentley with colleague Phil Hales winning twice. Mark Armstrong won twice for Broadmoor. Fleet A trounced bottom team Tennis E 9-1. David Joyce and Lawrence Dack each won all their matches whilst Melvyn Lovegrove won a couple.
In the First Division Central B tightened their grip at the top of the table with an 8-2 victory over Frimley A. Dave Phelps won three whilst Martin Townshend and Andy Appleby each won a couple but both lost to Frimley’s Nigel Oh. Bentley A eased past Central A 6-4. Phil Snelson was unbeaten for Central with Andy Mudie and Steve French each winning a pair for Bentley. Tennis C and Ash B shared the points with Paul Shakespeare unbeaten for Tennis. Sam Wan and Chris Dury both won twice for Ash.
In the Fourth Division Crawley Ridge B beat Ash H 8-2 with Peter Greenwood-Sleep and Ron Bartlett unbeaten. Ash K and Fleet B shared the points with Fleet’s Rob Brook undefeated. Stuart Wickham and Dave Brown bagged braces for Ash. Frimley E eased past Ash J 6-4 with Ash’s John Hutchinson unbeaten. Stephen Bridle and James Maxwell each won twice for Frimley. Broadmoor C also won 6-4, this against Ash G. Gabriel Ailioae won all his three for Broadmoor with Malcolm Codd supporting with a duo. Bob Murrell won a couple for Ash. In another 6-4 win Cody F got the better of Tennis H. John Sheehy picked up a maximum for Cody with team mate Norrie Short winning twice. Roger Whichelow won twice for Tennis.
