Week 22 of the Aldershot & District Table Tennis League saw a big 10-0 win for Fleet CC A at home to Frimley C in Division 2, Sameer Pathak, Dave Joyce and Lawrence Dack each winning all three, while young Ben Fereday won a good two for Ash H in Division 4 but that was as good as it got for his team as a James Hodges hat trick led Cody F to a comfortable 8-2 victory. Steve Chapman and Alistair Sutherland were also both unbeaten on the night as Frimley F beat Ash K 9-1 also in Division 4.
It was cup matches all the way for the rest of the week as the divisional and handicap cups shaped up nicely. Ash E had Janet Guess to thank as her trio was too good for Ash B in the Handicap quarter final, Dave Halfpenny fought valiantly for the B team but was downed by Janet 50-44 in the decider. Another all Ash encounter saw the H team join their stablemates in the hat after an entertaining win over Ash A, Ben Fereday the star man / boy winning all three. Tennis D also romped into the semis beating Ash K 5-2, Colin Baggott had it tied up on the night bagging both his matches.
It was a rough week for Ash B, who were also dumped out of the Div 1 cup, this time 5-0 at Central A, Phil Snelson, Pete Millard and Dennis Perrett taking their spot in the semi. A much tighter match up in Division 3 as Richard Isley and Pu Zhang won the last two matches for Broadmoor C to squeek through at the expense of Tennis F 5-4, finally Ash C booked their place in the final with a simple 5-0 rout of Bentley B, Nigel Tustin and Frank Winnard untroubled.
