Three matches in two weeks for Challenor in the ADTTL Division 1 saw them go through the full gamut of emotions as they beat Old Woking 8-2, drew five all with Central B and slumped to an 8-2 reverse versus title favourites Bentley A. A rare appearance from Rob Lemon (three out of three, well done) proved they need him to be at least medium rare this season if they are to challenge near the top echelons. Tennis B suffered two tight 6-4 defeats at the hands of their A team and Frimley A for whom Clive Asprey reeled off a treble. Tennis A followed this win up with a spirited effort at a strong Central A. Scott Ayers plundering a fine victory over Dennis Perrett and Simon Turner beating Ramesh Bhalla were the highlights in an 8-2 loss, Phil Snelson won three for Central. Ash B fought to a 6-4 triumph against Frimley A, Nigel Care and Dave Gilham both winning all three for the victors. Ash A beat Central B 7-3 in an entertaining encounter, Graham Watts with three and Chris Hazlehurst, two, were the main protagonists for Ash.
In Division 2 Cody B’s John Harvey and Dario Cereda were both triple trouble for Bentley B as they were mauled 9-1, Bentley however surprisingly fought back to gain a five all draw against Cody’s A team, a Robin Street hat trick the stand out performance. Sameer Pathak waltzed to an excellent return of six out of six for Fleet CC A as they drew with both Frimley B and C. Dave’s Jarvis and Hewitt trebled up for Tennis C as they beat Broadmoor B 8-2 but both were missing as their side went down 8-2 to Cody A, Pete Anthony winning a grafted trio. A new line up but the same as last season for Ash C who swept to an 8-2 victory at home to Frimley C, Nigel Tustin unbeaten.
